J. Michael Kober
Wyoming native Jeff Kober had his first taste of electronic music at a very young age in the early 90’s and it was love at first listen. Consuming as much music as possible for a cash-strapped pre-teen in pre-internet cowboy country was a challenge he eagerly accepted, and the rate of consumption has yet to slow 30 years on. Completely lacking in any kind of formal music education, he nonetheless started producing his own music in 2007 and took up DJing shortly thereafter, learning through trial and (mostly) error. (His own words.) The past 15 years has seen him release original music under the name J. Michael Kober on several labels and has DJ’d in a wide variety of contexts, from producing his own internet radio shows, to recording mixes for podcasts, to playing live in various venues around the state for a myriad of events. His tastes span the dance music spectrum, from Techno to Drum & Bass, Electro House to Nu Funk. He takes great pride in being a part of the local electronic music community and keeps striving to reach an ever-widening audience. He’s thankful for the promoters and artists for their collaborative spirit in keeping the Montana scene alive.
